For Tappers With Attitude Youth Ensemble

Auditions for aspiring members of Tappers With Attitude Youth Ensemble, Silver Spring's award-winning company known for innovation, top-notch tap training, and professional-quality ensemble work, were will be held on July 16, 2008.

We are excited to announce the creation of Trawick Taps! This program, fully funded by the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation, will allow us to provide full scholarship assistance to two successful audition candidates demonstrating financial need.

Tap dancers ages 10-and-up, currently working at an advanced beginner/intermediate level, are eligible to audition; all auditioning dancers are eligible to apply for scholarships.

Auditions will include technique work and observation by all three directors; participating dancers will be taught the audition combination as part of the audition. Dancers may also present a one-minute solo, if they wish.

During the audition session, there is also a mandatory meeting for parents of audition candidates. At least one parent per dancer must join current TWA parents for an informational session for prospective parents, including a question-and-answer period.
