18th Anniversary Concert Brings More Tap and Fun for the Family
(Silver Spring, MD) The Tappers With Attitude Youth Ensemble is poised to deliver another fresh and energetic performance during its 18th Anniversary Concert, "Tap Into the Energy!" TWA will deliver two energy-filled performances on June 13, 2009 at 8pm and June 14, 2009 at 3pm at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, located at 1333 H Street, NE, Washington, DC.
Known for fearless innovation and classic styling, this award-winning company will explode with energy during the family-friendly concerts, featuring original choreography and classic material by
Lane Alexander, Ayodele Casel, Heather Cornell, Michelle Dorrance, Barbara Duffy, Josh Hilberman, Germaine Ingram, and Baakari Wilder.
Special guests include classical guitarist and recording artist Myrna Sislen; the "young turks" on the local D.C. jazz scene, 3jazz Trio; and vocalist, Dana Bynum.
"TWA preserves the heritage of tap, while also nurturing expressive new voices of cutting-edge choreographers, so we have something for everyone," says Victoria Moss, Executive Artistic Director. "From classic tap set to traditional jazz, Latin-flavored pieces, high-style a cappella work, exuberant contemporary material, and more, TWA is excited to ‘wow' audiences during our 18th Anniversary concert."
